ClockWorks 2008
The LAUNCHING days were event days that were held at each participating school. These were fun filled days during which the Green Feet team played various games with the children, introducing the facilitators; the concept of the project as well as creating an awareness of Environmental Issues amongst the children.
There was also a Waste Collection Competition, through which all the material that was needed for the Art classes were collected by the children. A Prize for the winning class, of course!
The project was supported by GTZ YDF and endorsed by the Department of Education.

ClockWorks - 'countdown to 2010'
Using the upcoming FIFA SOCCER WORLD CUP in 2010 as an exciting and motivating theme, and in collaboration with the Youth Development through Football project (by GTZ), Green Feet implemented the Clockworks project in eight primary schools in the township of Mamelodi. Through this project, we created a synergy between environmental education, art, craft and sport, equipping children with skills that could benefit them in the future.

VISION
'Green Feet' has embarked on a journey aiming to bring about awareness of environmental issues and addressing social issues by presenting art and craft workshops in schools and other institutions.
Through this, we endeavor to:
Motivate and encourage children to participate in positive activities such as Art & Crafts, performing arts and sport.
Create awareness of the Environment.
Present alternatives by focusing attention on resources that are readily and freely available i.e. waste products.
Teach children and educators how to make use of these resources to create functional Art pieces and find expression through creativity.
MISSION
Through collaborating with partners such as the Youth Development Forum (YDF/GTZ), Altus Sport Vuma, Karos & Kambro and the JNF Walter Sisulu Environmental Center, we strive to inspire children to make responsible choices in their lives.
Our mission is to create a synergy between environmental education, sport and creative- and performance Art, not only equipping children with skills that could benefit them in the future, but educating the educators also, giving them renewed inspiration and enthusiasm towards teaching.
OBJECTIVES
We want to show the youth of South Africa the possibility of creating something beautiful and functional out of waste, whilst at the same time giving them an incentive to making a positive contribution to their immediate environment.
BENEFITS
Using waste to create Art not only teaches children how to utilize this free resource, but also to recognize the possibilities of using what is readily available to them in a positive way. By presenting craft techniques as an exciting educational tool, we contribute to Community development and skills training.
